There are so many ways to help out
Fostering and Adoptions
Twin Meadows Animal Rescue has no paid staff nor any physical facilities to house rescued animals. The volunteer rescue team does everything from animal intake, arranging vet appointments, recruiting fosters, placing animals in temporary homes and finally finding the perfect forever home. This process is very time consuming and emotional - but also very rewarding.
Rescue Team Help
TMARS needs help within this team.
Contacting fosters for immediate placement of rescued animals at a moment's notice
Contacting potential fosters and adopters who have applied to help out
Facilitating meet and greets and home trials
Liaising with the Foster / Adoption Directors
If you have the time and desire to make a real difference in an animal's life please contact:
1. Elk Valley Thrift Store in Sparwood - Support TMARS while helping out the Thrift Store sorting, folding and assisting customers. Your efforts will raise $5,000 for TMARS! We need 5 people each day - sign up for your shift Wednesdays, August 10 or 31, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
2. Friday night Meat Draws at the Fernie Hotel - for the 3 months October, November and December, TMARS will be the beneficiary of the raffle ticket sales from the Meat Draws! We need 2 volunteers each Friday night 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm to sell the raffle tickets. That's it! For our efforts, TMARS will earn approximately $4,000. Thanks to the Fernie Hotel for providing this amazing opportunity.
3. Creating the TMARS Christmas Silent Auction. Starting in September, we will be setting up the auction for the many (up to 150 items!) gifts we have received from our supporters in the community. Each item needs to have a photo and description and entered into the auction platform. This is a persnickety job that can be done on your own schedule at home.
